Where it all began…

In 1960, the young Schmitz brothers moved, with their family, from their farm in Ontario (Oil City), WI to Sparta, WI. In 1979, brothers Sylvan and Marvin bought the family farm from their parents. With the help of their brother Martin, they milked cows for 47 years until they “retired” from milking in 2006. However, the uncles did not sit still for long, they started raising heifers and beef cattle. In 2018, Sylvan, Marvin, and Martin decided they should “officially” think about retiring. Knowing the uncles wanted to keep the farm’s family history going, nephews Steve and Jeff Pieper, along with Steve’s family, began buying their way into the farm operation. Don’t worry, though; you will still see the uncles every day, working on the farm for as long as they can.

Double A Meats Comes to life…

We are Steve and Heather Pieper, and we own Double A Meats. We operate our small, family-owned farm with our two children, Aiden and Addison (Double A). We started to build our shop/house (shouse as some people have called it) on the farm in 2019, finishing it in 2020.  When the COVID pandemic hit, we were asked by several people if we could sell hamburger.  In 2021 we decided to get our state licenses and inspection to open our own retail shop. In our shop, we sell farm-fresh beef, checkout our prices tab to see all that we offer! Our beef cattle eat a balance of minerals, corn, and hay, which is grown on the farm, ensuring the best marbling and flavor! Our beef is processed from local butcher shops, there they cut, wrap, and freeze our beef. All shops that we work with are locally state inspected. Customers can purchase individual items or buy ¼, ½, and wholes. Our mission is to provide our customers with quality beef at an affordable price. Please contact us with any questions. We look forward to hearing from you.
